Unknown to most Americans right now, Tata Motors is India’s largest automotive manufacturer. The company specializes in small, affordable and fuel efficient vehicles. Back in 2005, Tata teamed up with Fiat to expand it’s line of vehicles and their worldwide markets. The latest buzz is that Fiat may import a couple Tata models into the U.S. wearing Dodge badges. One such model would be the Tata Nano pictured above. It would only cost around $3,000 brand new and deliver 70MPG on the highway – not bad!

I say, if Fiat really wants to make a splash in the U.S. marketplace, they should forget the Dodge and Chrysler badges and stick with the Tata name. Imagine the great TV and radio commercials!!! “Come check out our beautiful new Tata’s” “Our Tata’s really turn heads.” “Get a great pair of Tata’s with our buy one get one free sale.” “Get more bang for your buck with our Tata’s.” Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
