The Bugatti Veyron is about to wrap up its production run, however, they’re going out with a bang. Bugatti has released a new pumped up version of the car for those who think 1001 horsepower is just not quite enough. The new 16.4 Super Sport puts out right at 1,200 horsepower and made it’s big debut by setting the production car land speed record. Bugatti’s official test driver, Pierre Henri Raphanel, drove the car around VW’s high-speed test track at a record average speed of 267.81 mph. We here that the actual car delivered to customers, though, will be electronically limited to 257.9mph – WHY? Does an extra 10mph slower really make it that much safer when you’re already over 250mph anyway?
