Cadillac Escalades are one of the most stolen vehicles in the country. Why? Nice Wheels, valuable air bags and universally used parts between itself and other GM SUVs and trucks. Not to mention – they’ve been easy for thieves to steal! Sure GM spent the money to equip their fancy Caddy with a security coded ignition key that makes the vehicle virtually impossible to hot-wire quickly. However, they skimped on the basics… a steering wheel lock. (Didn’t the Chevette’s even have those standard?) Basically, a thief can bust out a window, put the vehicle in Neutral, and simply have it pushed to wherever they want to do the stripping process. GM is promising to reinstall the steering locks and upgrade the door glass.
