What is it from?

1968 Mustang Coupe 302 - Lady McQueenLady McQueen, my 1968 Mustang coupe, recently started pulling to the left when braking. A quick trip to the “world famous” Jack’s Garage would help identify the problem as a failing driver’s side brake caliper. I ordered a new OEM style caliper for a 68 Stang from CJ Pony parts and, upon arrival, ran into a big problem; it’s not the right part. Shown above, the new caliper is clearly not a match, but they DID send me the right part. This of course leads to the question of “OK then, what’s on my car???” The current calipers are stamped with a Ford logo (so I know it’s a factory Ford part) and what appears to be the numbers 533; it could be 588. A few minutes of searching on Google for a caliper identification chart would prove unsuccessful. I did, however, find an article about a guy with a 68 Mustang, switching out his stock front drum brake setup to a disc setup from a late 70′s Ford Granada. I believe the same setup was also used on the Mustang II’s. Can anybody give me some help in identifying my Calipers???  testdrivewithjay@gmail.com
